National HIV Testing Day (NHTD) is coming up at the end of this month, Wednesday, June 27th, and PHSA will be volunteering with the Alachua County Health Department conducting free rapid HIV testing and STD testing in a mobile unit outside of Walgreens at the intersection of Waldo Rd. and University Ave. from 10am-3pm. PHSA Volunteers will hold signs along University Ave and Waldo Rd to encourage people to get tested! It will be an easy, fun way to make a difference in our community even if you have no prior HIV program experience. If you have questions, please email Emily Sasser at esasser5@gmail.com. A follow-up email will be provided if you indicate your willingness to volunteer. Thank you!

The American Public Health Association has an annual meeting an exposition that is absolutely the place to be if you are interested in public health. It is the oldest and largest gathering of professionals from every field, including physicians, nurses, social scientists, administrators, epidemiologists, dieticians, and yes: students too. It is a great place to look for a job, internship, or just gain exposure and knowledge.
